Catholic Charities USA selected our agency to represent Indiana in the “Poverty in America” exhibit. Professional photographer, Steve Liss, is visiting various program sites to capture the spirit and good works of our employees and volunteers. Steve’s photos will be displayed during the Centennial Celebration on September 25-28th in Washington D.C. and on the www.americanpoverty.org web site.

Ramp Project
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of LaPorte County has received a grant to assist with their Ramp Building activities in LaPorte and Starke Counties.
To date this group of Twenty five RSVP and twenty three community volunteers have donated 8,633 hours to this project. The project’s activities have helped over 200 local residents remain safely in their homes and saved them from becoming institutionalized due to their handicap or age.
Housing Counseling/Education
Another Campaign for Human Development Grant was received by Catholic Charities to promote the education of individuals and families with housing difficulties. Counseling/education helps anyone having trouble meeting mortgage payments, falling behind in rent, fearing eviction or facing foreclosure. Individual and small group sessions are provided by a state certified HUD approved counselor.
CONGRATULATIONS to all associated with these programs!
